The Ratings & Reviews Policy is designed to:

  • Encourage responsible behavior
  • Support informed booking decisions
  • Reward quality performance

Reviews form part of Bayut’s reputation and ranking framework.

1. WHO CAN REVIEW

  • Only verified Guests and Hosts from completed stays may submit reviews.
  • Reviews must relate directly to the actual booking experience.
  • Cancelled or incomplete bookings are not review-eligible.

2. REVIEW WINDOW

  • Reviews must be submitted within 10 days after check-out.
  • During this period, reviews remain private.
  • Reviews become visible once both parties submit feedback or once the review window expires.

This structure reduces retaliatory reviewing.

3. REVIEW STRUCTURE

3.1 Ratings

Users must provide a numerical rating through the platform’s standardized scale.

3.2 Written Feedback

  • Guest reviews must meet a minimum character requirement.
  • Feedback must reflect genuine experience.
  • Irrelevant or unrelated commentary may be removed.

3.3 Host Replies

Hosts may publicly respond in a professional and factual manner.

4. CONTENT MODERATION

Reviews may be removed or edited if they contain:

  • Abusive or discriminatory language
  • Personal data or contact information
  • Threats or harassment
  • Clearly false or malicious claims

Moderation is based on policy compliance - not whether feedback is positive or negative.

5. GUEST RATING SYSTEM

Bayut may allow Hosts to rate Guests based on:

  • Property care
  • Rule compliance
  • Communication

Guest ratings may be visible only to Hosts and may influence booking acceptance decisions.

6. IMPACT ON VISIBILITY

Ratings may influence:

  • Search ranking
  • Listing visibility
  • Eligibility for featured placement

High-performing listings (e.g., strong rating averages and response rates) may receive improved exposure. Ranking methodology remains proprietary.

7. PROHIBITED REVIEW CONDUCT

Users may not:

  • Offer incentives for positive reviews
  • Pressure or threaten for review changes
  • Submit fake or coordinated reviews
  • Use multiple accounts to influence ratings

Review abuse may result in enforcement actions.

8. PLATFORM ROLE

Bayut:

  • Does not guarantee satisfaction
  • Does not verify subjective opinions
  • Does not alter compliant reviews solely due to dissatisfaction

The review system functions as a transparency tool, not an arbitration mechanism.

9. POLICY CHANGES

Bayut may modify review functionality, weighting mechanisms, or visibility criteria as the platform evolves. Continued use of the Platform constitutes acceptance of updates.
